Stage 01 · Discover
E-Lab develops the entrepreneurial mindset required to identify meaningful problems, recognise opportunities and begin thinking like a founder.
Students explore real-world challenges, interrogate assumptions and develop the foundations for identifying opportunities worth pursuing. It runs every trimester and is compulsory for all first-year students — which makes entrepreneurship a universal literacy at ALU rather than an extracurricular activity.

Who it's for
For faculty & partners
E-Lab runs every trimester and draws on practitioners for workshops and showcase judging. It is the widest point of the funnel and the cheapest place to influence it.
How it runs
E-Lab is the foundational programme, so it is built for breadth rather than selection. The objective is that no ALU student graduates without having tried to build something.
Entrepreneurial thinking, problem framing, and what founders actually do all day.
Problem shortlist
Opportunity-discovery methods applied to real challenges students can reach.
Opportunity brief
Venture ideation and team formation around problems worth pursuing.
Venture concept + team
Founder showcase to peers, facilitators and invited practitioners.

E-Lab dates follow the ALU academic calendar and should be pulled from it rather than hard-coded.
Questions founders ask
No. E-Lab is where you find one. Most students arrive with a problem they care about at most, and many arrive with neither.

Learning that early is the point. E-Lab is designed so that discovering an idea will not work is a success, not a failure.
Opportunity Lab, where 80 founders take an identified problem through structured validation — and can earn MVP funding.
E-Lab is where 1,500+ founders started. If you are an ALU first-year, you are already in it.
